How to make a composite in Photoshop

Here is the final result of the composite I did in Photoshop:

Step 1. I do a quick retouch on my portrait and on my background in Lightroom and then I open it as smart object in Photoshop:

Step 2. Once in Photoshop I take the move tool and move the portrait on the background. And I make a quick selection of my model:

Step 3. Then I refine edge to have a very good selection of my model, then I click on the mask so I have only the selection on the background:

Step 4. I retouch the model and the background so the colors are similar and I duplicate the project:

Step 5. I want to make the background blurry so I go to filter > Blur > Field Blur, I play around with the blur and the bokeh:

Step 6. I double process the photo to blend the portrait and the background. Here is the final result:
